Where have all the independents gone?!
1st USA Realty is the latest locally owned independent brokerage that has changed their name. The AZ Republic reported today that 1st USA Realty is now Century 21 Premier.
We thought this would be a good time to remind all that John Hall & Associates has been a stable brokerage in the Valley of the Sun since 1974. We have been a locally owned and operated, independent real estate company the entire time. We offer stable and consistent fees, support, and education for all our REALTORS®.
All offices are open to all John Hall & Associates’ agents – Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Arrowhead, and Tempe. We offer technology classes (including in-house flexmls® Web support), weekly *optional* broker meetings with Jim Sexton(Owner/Designated Broker), subsidized GRI classes, and let’s not forget one of the most recognizable for sale signs in the Valley.

And now Century 21 Premier is 1st USA Realty.
Go figure.
To clarify–the chain of events; local independent company 1st USA signs up & becomes a C21 affiliate– about 9 months later they are out of the franchise.
Question: Now, how does THAT happen?
Answer: There are a myriad of reasons & none of them are good.
What a shame for all involved!

Was this caused by weakness in their model? Two many single hitters, vs. a handful of medium and top producers? I still do not see the value unless they were bought out to switch their names. 1st USA was a name in town, they had their own RE school, so no logical reason to switch.
