SUPRA and iPhone Together At Last

SUPRA's iPhone AdapterIt is true, SUPRA lockboxes can now be opened with iPhones!  Users will need the SUPRA App and an additional piece of hardware (pictured). To sign-up for an eKey and get the piece of hardware, head over to your local ARMLS Support Center.

The eKey service for iPhones is in place of the new ActiveKeys.  You wouldn’t use them both – pick one or the other.

To give you an idea of cost, ActiveKeys are $169.52 billed yearly.  The Basic iPhone ekey application is $15.37 billed monthly (15.37 x 12 = 184.44) plus a one-time cost for the SUPRA eKey Adapter of $54.95.

Right now the basic service is all that is available, but SUPRA will be releasing a professional service later this year – more about the features.

Thank you Scottsdale Scott for starting the iPhone/Supra conversation on the intranet.  To answer your question from the Scottsdale office meeting – yes couples can share the adapter.  They have to have individual Apps and iPhones though.

Wireless ActiveKEY replacing the DisplayKEY

ActiveKEY - SUPRA Lockbox KeyARMLS recently announced they negotiated a deal with SUPRA to replace your lockbox DisplayKEY with a shiny new ActiveKEY!  The upgraded technology is designed to simplify your lockbox key management.  The biggest difference is that you will no longer need a cradle.  The ActiveKEY syncs itself wirelessly using an internal cellphone signal.  Pretty cool.

Here is some of what GE has to say about ActiveKEYs on their website.

ActiveKEY keeps itself updated 24/7 through frequent cellular connections to the Supra network. Virtually no attention is required from you. When an ActiveKEY opens one of your iBoxes, you receive a real-time showing notification on your key. (…) Enjoy lots of friendly features including a built-in flashlight and a brightly lit keypad and display window.

Just in case you would like more information about the ActiveKEY, here is a 68 page user guide or 2 pages of FAQ’s.

How much will ActiveKEYs cost?

One thing I noticed at the bottom of the ARMLS announcement flyer is that the Board of Directors has yet to set the renewal dues price for the lockbox keys. But! The flyer does hint at the final number saying it will be between $170 and $180.  Well, I think it’s time to speak up and let your voice be heard.  Let’s help the BOD’s decide where that number should end up!

Stay tuned for the ActiveKEY rollout schedule, it looks like DisplayKEY’s will be a thing of the past by fall.

Supra Lockbox Management – Flexmls Feature Friday

Welcome to this “awareness” f-cubed.  Thanks to a conversation with Sharon Glick over on the John Hall & Associates facebook page, we’ve been made aware some agents may not know Supra lockbox functions are available from within flexmls.

How many Valley agents renewed their Supra keys?

Real Estate Agents in PhoenixAs we have reported in the past, the number of active agents in the Valley is difficult to pin down.  There are 3 main cleansing periods throughout the year.  The local REALTOR® associations, ARMLS, and Supra all clean up their membership by sending annual bills.  The latest of which was the $120 Supra bill sent back in August.

Total invoices sent out on 8.20.08 – 32,694

Total payments received as of 10.20.08 – 24,372

Number of cancellations as of 10.20.08 – 1,063

Number of deactivated accounts due to non-payment as of 10.20.08 – 7,259

Total reduction of lockbox keys as of 10.20.08 – 8,322

That’s a 25% reduction of Supra lockbox keys.

BlackBerry® eKeys are Coming!

By the end of 2008, Supra eKey software will be available for the BlackBerry Pearl, BlackBerry Curve, and BlackBerry 8800 series smartphones.  BlackBerry devotees will soon join thousands of real estate professionals already enjoying the timesaving benefits of eKey service on their Palm and Windows Mobile smartphones.

We double checked with the local Supra office and they confirmed BlackBerry’s should double as lockbox keys by the end of the year.
